Hi everyone! 🙂
We’re now heading into Week 17 of the #W2DTogether drawing challenge. This weekly series is designed to help you beat art block, find drawing ideas fast, and keep drawing consistently.
Each week gives you one clear prompt so you don’t waste time wondering what to draw and can focus on actually drawing. If you are new here and want to see our journey so far, check out all the previous challenges here.
The Challenge
Challenge number 17: Childhood Throwback
This week’s challenge is about childhood. We all had different childhoods, different memories, and moments that stayed with us.
The Task: For this week, you need to create one drawing that contains several elements from your childhood. The goal is not just to draw one object, but a composition of memories. Think about:
-
Things you loved: A specific game, a movie, a TV show, or a toy you were obsessed with.
-
Things you hated: School, going to sleep early, or that dreaded alarm clock in the morning.
The moment you look at your finished piece, it should instantly feel like a throwback to your own childhood.
How to Approach It
-
The List Method: Write down five things that defined your early years. How can you fit them into one scene?
-
A Room of Memories: You could draw a shelf or a desk filled with your childhood treasures.
-
Atmosphere: Use colors or styles that remind you of the decade you grew up in, maybe neon 80s, grunge 90s, or bright Y2K colors.
The Rules
-
Must be YOUR drawing.
-
Medium: Drawings only (pencil, pen, colored pencils, markers, or digital). No paintings.
-
No AI art.
-
Requirement: Share one artwork that combines multiple childhood memories into a single drawing.
-
All skill levels welcome.
