Hi everyone!

This week, I asked you guys for drawing ideas for future challenges, and for Challenge #13, I’m using a wonderful suggestion from our community member, u/Memphisrexjr. They suggested: “I’d like to see a voted-on song that everyone listens to once, then draws what comes to their mind.”

I loved this concept immediately. It’s simple, creative, and the results can go in a hundred different directions!

The Challenge

Challenge number 13: Musical Visualization: “The Final Countdown”

Your task this week is to listen to the iconic song “The Final Countdown” by Europe and draw whatever comes to your mind.

There are no rules on style or subject. Just listen to the track once and draw the image, scene, feeling, or energy it puts in your head. The goal is to translate sound into visuals.

Why this song? I wanted to pick something iconic and instantly recognizable, something people can actually visualize as they hear that legendary opening synth riff. If you’ve never heard it before, you’re welcome for the introduction! 😉

How to Approach It

Go with your first instinct: What is the very first image that pops into your head when the music starts?
Focus on Lyrics vs. Rhythm: You might be inspired by a specific line, like “We’re leaving together,” or you might just draw the high-energy “vibe” of the 80s rock sound.
Abstract or Literal: You could draw a literal rocket launch, or an abstract explosion of color and movement.

The Rules

Must be YOUR drawing.
Medium: Drawings only (pencil, pen, colored pencils, markers, or digital). No paintings.
No AI art.
The Core Task: Share a visualization of how you see the song: “The Final Countdown.”
All skill levels welcome.
