Now, let’s get into this week’s theme!
The Challenge
Challenge number 8: Design Your Own Series of Cards
This week, your task is to design your very own original deck of playing cards! You can be inspired by traditional cards, like Kings, Queens, Jacks, and Jokers, or create something completely unique and personal.
The Creative Goal: You get to decide what your cards represent. They don’t have to be standard suits; they can symbolize:
- Emotions or Personality traits
- Memories or Life Chapters
- Your Favorite Characters (Original or from shows, books, or movies!)
Note: A full deck of 52 cards is a huge project! For this challenge, you only need to start your series. Just draw at least one or a few cards of your own design. If you love the idea, you can always finish the whole deck in your free time!
Extra Idea for Advanced Artists: Try incorporating elements of yourself into your card series. You could stylize a self-portrait into one of the “Royalty” cards or use personal symbols that reflect your own story and passions.
How to Approach It
Since you have total freedom this week, you can grab your own references or work purely from imagination. Think about:

The Border: Will your cards have a classic frame or something more organic?

The Symmetry: Will you use the traditional “double-headed” design of playing cards?

The Symbols: What represents “Ace” or “Spades” in your world?
The Rules

Must be YOUR drawing.

Medium: Drawings only (pencil, pen, colored pencils, markers, or digital). No paintings.

No AI art.

Requirement: Draw at least one (or a few) original card designs.
