Original Run: Sunday, September 28, 2025 – Sunday, October 5, 2025
It’s already been three weeks since we kicked off this challenge! It’s crazy how fast it’s moving. I’m thrilled that more and more artists are noticing it and sharing their work. If you’re new here and want to see how we started, check out our previous challenges here.
Now, let’s get started on this week’s challenge!
The Challenge
Challenge number 3: Turn Your Favorite TV Show or Movie into Art
For this challenge, I want you to pick a show or movie that you love and bring its world to life on paper (or screen). Here is how to build your drawing:
-
Draw at least one person/character: It could be the full character, just a face, or even just their eyes.
-
Include a specific symbol: Pick an object or detail that belongs only to that world. Think of a wand for Harry Potter, a lightsaber for Star Wars, or a golden donut for The Simpsons.
-
Add your creative touch: Include extra elements fans would instantly recognize—like a famous quote in your handwriting or a specific background setting.
Extra Idea for Advanced Artists: Since it’s your favorite show or movie, why not make it even more personal by adding yourself into the drawing? Imagine standing next to the character or even turning the scene into a mini comic strip!
Inspiration: Examples to Get You Started
Because everyone will pick a different show, I can’t provide a single set of references. However, let’s look at Stranger Things as an example of how to layer your drawing:
-
The Character: Draw Eleven or the group of kids.
-
The Symbol: Add the Christmas lights or a waffle.
-
The Creative Touch: Draw the “Upside Down” creeping into the background or write the quote “Friends don’t lie.”

The Rules
-
Must be YOUR drawing.
-
Medium: Drawings only (pencil, pen, colored pencils, markers, or digital). No paintings.
-
No AI art.
-
All skill levels welcome: Beginners to experts.
-
Required Elements: One character + one specific object/symbol + one extra recognizable detail.
